Independence & Relationships

Learn social and interactional skills with peers in a supportive and friendly environment. Our Relationship & Independence programs are designed to help you develop your communication skills and your independence. Participate in a range of activities and form friendships with your peers.

Groupies

Indulge in your music passion. Follow local bands and check out the latest live gigs? Groupies are devoted to attending as many live performances as possible ranging from bands playing at local venues to buskers on the streets and in parks. It is all about kicking back and enjoying the music, soaking up the atmosphere and having a great time.

Sunday Sessions

Kick back on a Sunday afternoon with newfound friends, listen to the latest live bands, dance the afternoon away or just chill out, the choice is yours. Many great memories have been created from a good old fashioned Sunday Session and these guys certainly know how to have a great time.

Time: 2pm – 6pm
Venue: Various local community locations.

Hip Ideas

H.I.P Ideas is a program that is designed around your needs and the needs of your peers. In H.I.P Idea’s you are the centre of the program. You are encouraged to learn by doing and to leverage the support of your peers. Onsite staff will support you but are there in a supervisory role.

H.I.P Ideas is a program that is designed around your needs and the needs of your peers. In H.I.P Idea’s you are the centre of the program. You are encouraged to learn by doing and to leverage the support of your peers. Onsite staff will support you but are there in a supervisory role. You and your peers will lead the program. H.I.P Ideas is designed to increase your independence. To develop communication skills and for you to learn how to interact with your peers.You will also learn how to:

  • share in new experiences
  • negotiate
  • compromise
  • form friendships
  • plan
  • persuade

All within a safe and supportive environment.

Day: Monday – Thursday
Time: 9am – 3pm
Venue: Murwillumbah Hub and various local community venues.

Work Ready

Working, whether paid or unpaid , is good for our health and well-being. It helps us to build confidence and self esteem, rewards us financially and contributes to our happiness. Our Work Ready Program can assist you to develop the skills necessary to enter the workforce or pursue volunteering opportunities. We can also assist you to extend your education and attend TAFE or ACE courses.

Communication and Literacy

Advance your technological knowledge across multiple devices including iPads, tablets, computers and apps. In Technology and Communication you will be supported to help you to keep up to date with the latest technologies. Technology and Communication is tailored to each individual and you can progress at your own pace.

A series of workbooks will provide aid and a reference as well as the support from a Lifebridge staff member. This program seeks to build your confidence with a range of technologies and to enable you to use them independently of support.

Faces And Places

Increase your social circle, meet new people and explore your local community. Whether it be visiting local attractions, dining out, catching a live show or an educational day tour, you can be assured that there is no shortage of interesting and exciting opportunities with the Faces & Places group.

I Can Do It

‘I Can Do It’ is a program designed to increase your independent living skills in a fun and supportive environment. The program sets out to teach everything from essential emergency responses to daily household tasks.

‘I Can Do It’ is a program designed to increase your independent living skills in a fun and supportive environment. The program sets out to teach everything from essential emergency responses to daily household tasks.
You will gain skills and knowledge in community safety whilst using public transport and accessing local businesses, clubs, shops and recreation centres.

Day: Friday
Time: 9am – 3pm
