Education & Work Experience

Engage in a variety of courses to further your education. Be supported through your learning and when you’re ready participate in relevant work-experience to help you obtain ongoing employment.

Work Ready

Working, whether paid or unpaid , is good for our health and well-being. It helps us to build confidence and self esteem, rewards us financially and contributes to our happiness. Our Work Ready Program can assist you to develop the skills necessary to enter the workforce or pursue volunteering opportunities. We can also assist you to extend your education and attend TAFE or ACE courses.

Description:

Venue: Tweed Hub and various local community TAFE and ACE colleges, libraries, etc.

Tinker Shed

The Tinker Shed is a program where participants can have some fun as they test their skills to build, restore and create various items using any number of materials they choose. Tinker Shed participants are encouraged to develop a plan and to execute. They can work together with peers or individually leveraging of the supports available.

Communication and Literacy

Advance your technological knowledge across multiple devices including iPads, tablets, computers and apps. In Technology and Communication you will be supported to help you to keep up to date with the latest technologies. Technology and Communication is tailored to each individual and you can progress at your own pace.

A series of workbooks will provide aid and a reference as well as the support from a Lifebridge staff member. This program seeks to build your confidence with a range of technologies and to enable you to use them independently of support.

Day: Tuesday
Time: 9am – 3pm
Venue: Murwillumbah Hub and various local community locations.

Photography

Professional photographer and videographer, Julie Lowe will teach you how to strive for passion, soul and inspiration in your photography and also the basics of getting to know your camera in manual mode. Learn how to develop a great eye for capturing those special moments to share with your family and friends.

Our Visual Arts Program, which is taught by qualified art tutors, is the perfect place to discover the joys of creative self-expression. Our gallery and artist workshop is located at Shop 1, 131 Murwillumbah Street and you are most welcome to pop in and have a chat with our award winning artists and tutors.

Multi award winner Us the Band were formed in 2006 with the vision to bring people together through the power of music. Celebrating teamwork, friendship and inclusion, the Band’s motto is it’s not about YOU and ME, it’s about US. Always a crowd favourite, Us the Band perform at various local gigs, festivals and events. Applications are open for new members who have a unique musical talent they can contribute to the band. Waitlist applies.

The Keen to Learn Program can be tailored to your individual learning abilities and skill levels. You determine the pace, your goals and learning outcomes you wish to achieve. Develop pathways and gain TAFE qualifications.
